Cara Nance led the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs with a team-high seven kills and tied for team-high dig honors with seven, but CIAA Northern Division leading Chowan University won 3-0 in convincing fashion. The Hawks defeated the Lady Bulldogs by scores of 25-6, 25-14 and 25-17.
Chowan (21-5, 14-0 CIAA, 8-0 North) was led by Victoria Lewis (Stafford, VA) with a match-high 11 kills to go along with 10 digs and three service aces. Karina Monroe and Megan Sawyer contributed seven kills each for the Hawks.
Bowie State (8-19, 2-12 CIAA, 1-7 North) struggled on offense the entire match ending the night with an attack percentage of minus .026. Junior
Jasmine Nixon ranked second on the Lady Bulldogs with five kills and added one service ace and five digs.
Bowie State's volleyball team will have a short time to rest up for its next match, hosting the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings at 11 am tomorrow (October 22nd).
