BOWIE STATE STUMBLES IN VOLLEYBALL HOME FINALE AGAINST ELIZABETH CITY STATE

(BOWIE, Md.)  Bowie State University volleyball had no answer for Elizabeth City State University, falling in three sets to the Lady Vikings by scores of 12-25, 16-25 and 14-25 in the home finale for the Lady Bulldogs.

Bowie State managed just 13 kills in the match with junior Jasmine Nixon and freshman Jenahye' Johnson leading the team with three kills each.  Freshman Cara Nance led the Lady Bulldogs with a half dozen digs and Nixon added five digs.  Freshman Paige McIntosh accounted for nine of BSU's 11 assists to go along with two kills, four digs, one block and one block assist.

Kyla Shute and Morghan Stallings paced Elizabeth City State with 10 and nine kills respectively.  Whitney Green knocked down eight kills and Tori Lamont contributed seven kills in the sweep.  The ECSU Lady Vikings wrapped up the morning match with an attack percentage of .423.

Elizabeth City State (15-10, 10-3 CIAA, 6-2 North), returns home to play Virginia State at 6 pm Monday (October 24th).  Bowie State travels across town for its next match (October 24th) at the University of the District of Columbia at 7 pm.
