(HAMPTON, Va.) The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs (0-7, 0-1 CIAA) couldn't seem to find the answers as the team took a three-set loss to the Johnson C. Smith University Lady Golden Bulls (3-4, 1-1 CIAA) on the opening day of the 2011 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round-Up.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to the Lady Golden Bulls, 26-24, 25-20 and 25-21. The loss came in spite of a solid overall effort by the Lady Bulldogs as the team played some solid defense and was aggressive offensively with 161 total attacks, but the team was hampered by 30 attack errors in the loss.

Bowie State freshman outside hitter Cara Nance led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 10 kills and 21 digs. The BSU freshmen duo of Briana Ford and Jenahye' Johnson along with sophomore Brianna Flowers added six kills each. Freshman setter Paige McIntosh added 22 assists in the loss.
