BOWIE STATE VOLLEYBALL FIGHTS HARD BUT DROP 3-0 DECISION TO LIVINGSTONE

(HAMPTON, Va.) Playing their second match of the day on day two of the CIAA Volleyball Round-Up, Bowie State played hard before losing a three set decision to Livingstone College. The Lady Blue Bears captured the victory by scores of 25-19, 25-9 and 25-23.

The young Lady Bulldogs were once again led by freshmen Jenahye' Johnson and Cara Nance. Johnson led the team with seven kills on 17 attacks to go along with three digs and one block. Nance paced Bowie State with 24 attacks and two service aces, both team-highs and knocked down five kills. Freshman Paige McIntosh setup a game-high 12 assists and added three kills on seven attacks, four digs and one block assists.

Livingstone was led by Phylicia Egbuna with a game-high 26 attacks and 11 kills. LaPria Saunders and Lakitta Hicks recorded eight and seven kills respectively for the victors.

Bowie State (0-9, 0-3 CIAA) will look to get into the win column later today when they face St. Augustine's College.
