(HAMPTON, Va.) St. Augustine's College took just over an hour to hand Bowie State a three set loss, beating the Lady Bulldogs 25-17, 25-13 and 25-9. The loss puts the Bowie State season record at 0-0-10 and 0-4 in the CIAA.
Bowie State struggled at the net, accounting for only eight team kills on 64 attacks and ended the match with a minus .109 attack percentage. The freshmen duo of
Cara Nance and
Jenahye' Johnson continue leading the team, tallying two kills each. Nance led the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high 20 attacks and fellow freshman
Paige McIntosh contributed 13 attacks. McIntosh was the teams' leader in assists with seven to go along with four digs. Freshman
Briana Ford accounted for Bowie State's only two service aces and added a block assists.
St. Augustine's (4-6, 4-0 CIAA) notched 84 attacks which included 36 kills in the win. Leading the way for the Lady Falcons were Keisha Parris and Kathryn Tokarski with 13 and 12 kills respectively.
BSU's Lady Bulldogs will close out the CIAA Round-Up weekend with Sunday (9/18) matches against Shaw University (10 am) and Winston-Salem State University (12 noon).
