(BOWIE, Md.) The Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs never really got going in their division matchup against Virginia Union University, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Lady Panthers. Bowie State (2-12, 2-6 CIAA, 1-1 North) lost by scores of 13-25, 23-25 and 13-25.

Virginia Union's Aisha Berkley (Palm Bay, FL) recorded a match-high 11 kills while teammate Ellie Parsons (Custer, SD) had a match-high 16 digs to lead the Lady Panthers. VUU's Demi Schrader (Niles, MI) racked up 29 assists to pace both teams.

Freshman Cara Nance and junior Jasmine Nixon led Bowie State with nine and seven kills respectively. Nance also led the BSU Lady Bulldogs in digs with eight and service aces with three. Freshman Paige McIntosh led Bowie State in assists, recording 15 in the setback.

Bowie State will have little time to regroup, hosting Virginia State University at 11 am Saturday (September 24th) in the A.C. Jordan Arena.

Virginia Union (3-11, 2-4 CIAA, 1-0 North) heads a little further north for their next match, as the Lady Panthers take on the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania Lady Lions – Saturday (September 24) at 2 pm.
