(BOWIE, Md.) The early season struggles continues for the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs volleyball team, falling 3-0 to the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning in BSU's home debut. Goldey-Beacom won by scores of 25-13, 26-7 and 25-18 and improved their record to 2-3.
Bowie State (0-4) was led by freshmen
Cara Nance (Island Lake, IL / Wauconda HS) and
Paige McIntosh (Tucson, AZ / Cienega HS). Nance recorded a set-high 12 digs and a team-high six kills and McIntosh contributed a dozen assists to go along with six digs and a block assists.
Roni Shaner paced Goldey-Beacom with a set-high 11 service aces and added four kills and two digs. Taylor Moyer accounted for a team-high eight kills and added five digs and a block.
Bowie State looks to notch their first win next Tuesday (September 13), hosting the University of the District of Columbia at 7 pm in BSU's A.C. Jordan Arena.
