Elizabeth City State Knocks Off Bowie State 3-0 in Volleyball Divisional Match

Freshman India Mason Paces Lady Bulldogs with Four Kills and Three Blocks
Box Score BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University played with a lot of heart but Elizabeth City State University cruised to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-11 and 25-16) victory over the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-20, 1-4 CIAA, 0-8 North) were playing their final home match of the season and were led by freshman India Mason (Greenbelt, Md.) with four kills on 11 attacks and accounted for all three solo blocks to go along with a block assists. Senior Brelyn Finley (District Heights, Md.) tallied three kills on the night on 13 attacks and contributed two service aces.

Senior Briana Flowers (Millersville, Md.) and sophomore Yaje Ngundam (Bowie, Md.) knocked down a pair of kills and sophomore Marissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) add one kill to go along with a team-high nine digs in the loss.

Freshman Amy Harvey (Laurel, Md.) was responsible for eight of Bowie State's nine assists and tied Ngundam with six digs each.

Rosetta Becerra (Riverside, Calif.) was a beast for ECSU's Lady Vikings, recording 11 kills on 22 attacks and a dozen digs, all match-highs. Emmesha White (Dunn, N.C.) and Kelsey Smith (Cascade, Va.) added seven kills each for Elizabeth City State who improved its record to 9-6, 9-4 CIAA and 6-1 in the North.

Bowie State will step out off conference for its next two matches, playing a tri-match versus Glenville State and Davis and Elkins on Saturday (October 19th) in Glenville, W.Va.
