Freshman India Mason (Greenbelt, MD.) led the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high five kills and added one dig, one solo block and one block assist in her first collegiate contest. Senior Briana Flowers (Millersville, Md.) recorded a team-high five assists while sophomore Yaje Ngundam (Bowie, Md.) contributed a match-high two solo blocks. Ngundam tied with sophomore Marissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) for team-high dig honors with six.

Virginia State (5-5, 4-0, 1-0) was paced by freshman Dierdre Carter (Winchester, Va.) and senior Aubree Parker (Fort Pierce, Fla.) with 10 and seven kills respectively. Freshman Alexsys Pullen (Troy, MI) and junior Brianna Small (Lakewood, N.J.) chipped in five kills each. Senior Jasmine Henderson (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Lady Trojans in assists with a match-high 17 and freshman Diamond Simpson accounted for 11 assists in the victory.

Bowie State returns to action Sunday (September 22nd) at Chowan University. Match time versus the Hawks is 1 pm.
