BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University volleyball dropped its seventh straight match, falling in straight sets to Cheyney University by scores of 14-25, 19-25 and 9-25 on Senior Night. The loss sets the Lady Bulldogs season record to 3-17.

Prior to the match, four Lady Bulldogs (
Breiona Garrison,
Amy Harvey,
Kelisha Perry and
Cheyenne Salter) were honored with flowers, balloons and a large canvas action shot.
Garrison paced Bowie State with a team-high eight kills while junior
Tia Williams added five kills in the non-conference setback. Harvey was responsible for all 12 Bowie State set assists to go along with four service aces and five digs and Perry was the Lady Bulldogs leader on defense with a dozen digs.
Cheyney (3-15) was led offensively by Chelsea Hutson and Virshawna Campbell with 12 and eight kills respectively. The Wolves had almost as many service aces (13) as Bowie State had total kills (16) on the night. Akia Harris and Campbell were Cheyney's top defenders with 13 and nine kills respectively.
Bowie State will entertain Georgian Court University on Sunday (October 23rd) at 11 a.m. in a non-conference match.
