LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Senior Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) recorded team-highs of six kills and nine against the Lady Lions in a 3-0 (18-25, 19-25, 6-25) loss at Lincoln (Pa.) University on Saturday (11/12) afternoon in the Manuel Rivero Hall.

The Lady Bulldogs end their season with a 3-22 overall record, 1-15 record in CIAA play and 1-9 in the Northern Division. Lincoln (Pa.) moves to 7-22 overall, 5-11 in league play and 2-8 in the division.  Bowie State tallied three kills in set one, nine in set two and 3 in set three for a minus .023 attack percentage. Junior Tia Williams (Abingdon, Md.) contributed three kills and freshmen Brianna Meyers (Jessup, Md.) along with Shayquan Winegan (Baltimore, Md.) added two kills each for Bowie State.

Lincoln never trailed in the opening set, jumping out to an 11-4 lead and never looking back.    Two straight aces from King later in the set gave the Lady Lions a double-digit advantage 20-10.  The Bulldogs fought back with an 8-4 run before a kill from King sealed the set at 25-18.

The second set was much closer as with Lincoln leading in the early going.  A 5-0 rally by Bowie State gave the Bulldogs their only lead of the match at 12-10.  LU scored the next three points to retake the lead at 13-12 and later produced a 7-0 run to pull away 21-14.  The final points were similar to the first set as the Bulldogs attempted a comeback.  King again closed the set out with a kill, giving the Lady Lions a 25-19 win.

The final set was all Lincoln as 9-1 run broke a 2-2 tie and put the match firmly in their hands at 11-3.  After a BSU kill made the score 11-4, Russaw took over the serving duties and the Lady Lions produced 11 straight points to lead 22-4.  Five volleys later Lincoln clinched the match, winning the set 25-6.

Atarah Lindsey led Lincoln (Pa.) with a match-high 17 kills and added eight digs. Tierra Russaw and Mariah Russell tallied double-digit digs in the sweep with 19 and 11 respectively. Shanna King was the teams' leading setter with 27 to go along with three service aces and seven digs.
