BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University women's volleyball dropped a straight set decision to visiting Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday (9/6) evening by sets of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-13. The setback puts the Bowie State record at 0-2 overall.
The Lightning set the tone in the first set with a 12-6 kills edge and a .391 hitting percentage. They tallied 16 kills in the second and third sets to end with a 44-11 overall advantage.

Jada Mccullough (Baltimore, Md.) was responsible for one kill in the match to go along with one service ace and one dig. Myers and Garrison paced the Bowie State defense with eight and six digs respectively.
Goldey-Beacom's Jada Canteen (Newark, Del.) and Grace McCarthy (Middletown, Del.) notched double digit kills with 12 and 10 kills respectively over 38 attacks. Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, N.J.) and Jax Babezki (Warrington, Pa.) accounted for eight and seven kills respectively while Olivia Florence amassed 35 of the Lightning 39 assists. As a team, Goldey-Beacom (1-0) ended the evening with an overall attack percentage of .435 compared to .017 for the Bulldogs.
Bowie State is idle until Saturday (September 17) when they host Johnson C. Smith at 12 noon in the Leonidas S. James Complex (A.C. Jordan Arena) as part of the CIAA Round-Up.
