PETERSBURG, Va. - Bowie State University softball finally completed the season sweep of Elizabeth City State University on Friday (5/28) night, winning by a final score of 7-0. The win improves the Bulldogs season mark to 16-18 overall, 12-2 in CIAA play and 7-1 within the division. The Bulldogs and Lady Vikings were only able to get one game in at Bowie State six days ago due to inclement weather.

Inaya Jones (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore
Megan Visele (Great Mills, Md.) led Bowie State with a pair of hits each and junior
Stefanie Ray (Damascus, Md.) went the distance in the circle, striking out 15 Vikings and improved her season record to 13-8.
Emily Lewis (Aberdeen, Md.) recorded a game-high two RBI in the Bulldogs victory,
Kaylee Surrento (Elizabeth City, N.C.) was responsible for two of the Lady Vikings three hits. Lashika Basnight Plymouth, N.C.) was responsible for Elizabeth City State's other hit. Kelsey White (Askewville, N.C.) took the loss in the circle, giving up eight hits. The ECSU defense also had a tough night, committing five errors and ended the year with an overall record of 3-24, 2-10 in the league and 2-6 in the CIAA North.)
The Bowie State Bulldogs conclude the regular season on Saturday (4/29) with a key CIAA Northern Division doubleheader matchup at Virginia State University. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. with game two getting underway about 25 minutes later.
