Kyaja Williams (Baltimore, Md.) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Bowie State University women's basketball to a 62-50 victory over Livingstone College. Senior
Amel Duggins (Largo, Md.) had her breakout game of the season scoring 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the arc and pulled down seven rebounds in the contest.

For the contest, the Bulldogs outscored the Lady Blue Bears in all four quarters and led by a shooting percentage of 51 percent (21-of-41), including 5-of-12 (41 percent) from the 3-point line while holding a 37-16 advantage on the glass defensively over Livingstone. The Bulldogs now improve to 10-0 on the year with today's victory while Livingstone dips to 3-6.
Livingstone's Darra Walker led all scorers with 17 points, including 5-of-10 from behind the arc.
The Bulldogs wasted no time, owning an 11-4 lead in the first six and a half minutes of the contest before taking a 16-11 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter. After going scoreless in the first four minutes of the second quarter, Daisa Harris cut the Bulldogs lead to 16-13 before Walker's deep ball even the score at 20-20 with 2:18 left. However, BSU would go on a 6-0 run to groom a 26-20 lead at the end of the second stanza.
Bowie State regained control in the second half by using a 12-5 run to build its biggest lead of 38-22 with 4:22 remaining. Livingstone would however cut the deficit to just nine to end the third frame.
In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs outscored Livingstone 17-15 that led to a 15-point lead in the final 1:13 of the game as BSU cruised to 10 straight victory to open up the season.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday (12/21) with a home conference matchup against Fayetteville State University. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. at the AC Jordan Arena.
