WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bowie State University women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Trinity (D.C.) in a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles competition that featured junior
Devinity Apollon (Washington, D.C.) and sophomore
Kayla Bridgett (Upper Marlboro, Md.) claiming a 6-0 win at the No. 1 doubles while junior
Kamari Eason (Oxon Hill, Md.) along with freshman
Tamia Byrom (Upper Marlboro, Md.) were victorious at the No. 2 doubles, 6-0. Sophomore
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) and freshman
Jatiya Stewart (Lanham, Md.) also grabbed a 6-0 win at the No. 3 doubles.

In singles competition, Bowie State (2-6) picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1-2 and No. 6 and 6-0, 6-1 wins at No. 3 and No. 4. The Bulldogs recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday (March 28) hosting Elizabeth City State in a CIAA Northern Division doubleheader on the BSU campus courts. The first match is scheduled for 10 a.m.
