BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State women's tennis opened its 2020 season on a windy Saturday (3/7) afternoon, hosting a conference match with Fayetteville State (1-2) and dropped a 6-1 decision.

Devinity Apollon (Washington, D.C.) defeating Kristin Jackson 6-0 and 6-1. Appollon teamed up with junior
Kayla Bridgett (Upper Marlboro, Md.) to secure an 8-5 victory at No. 1 Doubles.
Bridgett lost her No 2. Singles match to FSU's Arnisha Cosby by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore
Tamia Byrom (Upper Marlboro, Md.) fell short at No. 3 Singles to Kayla Williams 5-2 and 7-6 while FSU's Lauryn Clark defeated BSU sophomore
Jatiya Stewart (Lanham, Md.) by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 at No. 4 Singles.

Kamari Eason (Oxon Hill, Md.) was edged 7-5 and 6-3 at No. 5 Singles by Fayetteville State's Jayla Wooten and BSU junior
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) was shutout 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 Singles.
Fayetteville State defeated Bowie State 8-5 at No. Doubles and the Broncos tasted victory at No. 3 Doubles, topping the Bulldogs 8-2.
Bowie State returns to the court Tuesday, March 10 when they meet Elizabeth City State on the road at 1 p.m. at the ECSU campus courts.
