Bowie, Md. – The Bowie State University women's volleyball team will host a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) matchup on Thursday, October 28th against Virginia Union inside A.C. Jordan Arena. The match will begin at 6 p.m.

BSU enters the match 4-15 on the season and 3-9 in conference play after recently gaining their first road win of the season against Lincoln (PA). The Bulldogs won 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-14, 25-15) over the Lions. Bowie State is currently in fifth place within the Northern Division.
Junior Marshall Madison (Albany, NY) continues to lead the team with 89 kills (1.62kills per set) while senior Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, MD) owns a total of 229 assists. Sophomore, Neysha Washington (Winchester, VA) has a team-high 268 digs (4.25 digs per set) and graduate senior Christiana DuBose (Bowie, MD) holds a team-best in service aces (36), averaging 0.57 per set.
BSU and VUU will meet for the second time this season, the first meeting occurred on October 7th when VUU edged the Bulldogs, 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 28-26, 20-25, 11-15) in Richmond, Va.
The Lady Panthers (4-11, 3-9 CIAA) are currently fourth in the North with a division record of 2-4. VUU has lost their last three-matches, including a 3-0 setback to Virginia State Monday. Essence Poteat leads the team offensively with 131 kills, aided by Denise Burk with 373 assists. Leading defensively is Maysun Creery dishing out 217 digs.
