Bowie, Md. – The Bowie State University volleyball team will continue Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference play on Thursday, Oct. 7th when the Bulldogs face Virginia Union University. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. inside the Barco-Stevens Hall.
After going 0-3 at the CIAA round-up, the Bulldogs (1-11, 0-5 CIAA) enter Thursday's tilt looking to snap a nine match losing skid against the Lady Panthers. Offensively, the team has been led by junior Madison Marshall (Albany, NY) with 53 kills, while senior Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, MD) has a total of 142 assists, and defensively sophomore Neysha Washington (Winchester, VA) has collected 139 digs.
BSU and VUU will meet up for the 25th time since 2008. The Lady Panthers are 21-4 all-time against the Bulldogs. The last time these two programs met was in 2019, with VU winning 3-1 (27-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21) over BSU.
Virginia Union is led by Amilex Lopez-Ayala with 59 kills, while Denise Burk has 126 assists, and Maysun Creery has a team-high 84 digs.
