BOWIE, Md. – The 2021 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Football Championship game is set between the No. 12 Bowie State University Bulldogs and the Fayetteville State University Broncos Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. from Salem Stadium.

Advance general admission tickets to the Football Championship are $15 while advance reserved tickets are $25. Both are available now at Ticketmaster.com. Special rates for students with school IDs will be available the day of the event for $10. Admission for children ages 7 and under is free. Tickets are also available at the Salem Civic Center Box Office (Monday - Friday: 8 am - 5 pm).
How to Watch
The championship game will be available on the CIAA Sports Network as a pay-per-view option for $9.95 and will also be broadcast nationally on Aspire TV.
The Game
Saturday's championship game will be the third consecutive matchup between the Bulldogs and Broncos in the CIAA title contest. Bowie State makes its third-straight appearance while Fayetteville State will make its fourth-straight. BSU and FSU will meet on the gridiron for the 33rd time, with the all-time series dating back to 1976. The Bulldogs own the all-time record 16-15-1 overall and have won the last two outings against the Broncos in the CIAA title game. Bowie State has won six of the last 10 meetings against Fayetteville State.
The Bulldogs
No. 12 Bowie State Bulldogs enter the championship game with a 9-1 overall record and 7-0 mark against conference opponents this season. During their last outing, the Bulldogs toppled Elizabeth City State, 79-6 and set numerous program records in the winning effort. Earlier this week, the CIAA announced all-conference superlatives with Bowie State tallying 10 total honorees and the 2021 CIAA Coach of the Year in head coach Damon Wilson. Three Bulldogs garnered First Team All-CIAA recognition including senior Quinton Bobo (White Plains, MD), senior Calil Wilkins (Temple Hills, MD) and redshirt sophomore Jonathan Ross (Waldorf, MD).
Second Team All-CIAA selections featured senior Mark Murphy (Seat Pleasant, MD), senior Justice Davis (Washington, D.C.), redshirt junior Joshua Pryor (Baltimore, MD), redshirt sophomore Raymond Boone (Landover, MD), redshirt sophomore Darious Bowman (Fort Washington, MD) and senior Kenny Amaya (Bladensburg, MD).
The Bulldogs have been led by senior Ja'rome Johnson (Washington, D.C.) who has thrown for 1,651 yards on 190 completions and 18 total touchdowns. All-CIAA honoree Wilkins has been a monster on the ground for Bowie State, compiling 943 rushing yards on 185 carries and eight touchdowns. BSU has used a plethora of receivers throughout the regular season but redshirt sophomore Keshane Hinckley (Laurel, MD) has caught 24 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns while Bowman has gathered 22 catches for 292 yards and a team-high four touchdowns.
Both Pryor and Ross have been at the forefront for one of the nation's best defense this season. Pryor has 41 tackles (30 solo), 15.5 tackle for losses, six quarterback pressures, five sacks, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and blocked kick while his counterpart Ross has 40 tackles (28 solo), 19 tackle for losses, six sacks, seven pressures and five forced fumbles. In addition to the Bulldogs front line, BSU's secondary has been top tier led by Boone and senior Myles Wolfolk (Largo, MD) who combined for 69 tackles, and five interceptions.
Scouting the Broncos
Fayetteville State stands 8-1 overall and 7-0 in league action entering the championship game. The Broncos are coming off a 10-3 win over Winston-Salem State in their last outing. The 4X Southern Division champions had 11 All-CIAA selections highlighted by Defensive Player of the Year Keyshawn James and Defensive Lineman of the Year Greg Brooks.
The Broncos are led by K'hari Lane who has thrown for 2,081 yards on 145 completions and 20 touchdowns while Donshel Jetton has scored four touchdowns on 111 carries and 627 rushing yards. Tyeous Sharpe leads the receiving unit with 38 receptions, 499 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, James owns 62 total tackles, 21 tackle for losses and 10.5 sacks while Gerald Simpson has grabbed 60 tackles, seven tackle for losses and two sacks.
