BOWIE, Md. – Looking to snap a five match losing skid, the Bowie State University women's volleyball team will resume Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play on Monday, Sept. 27 when the Bulldogs travel to face Elizabeth City State University.

The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m. inside the R.L. Vaughan Center.

The Bulldogs enter Monday's tilt 1-7 overall and 0-1 in CIAA action, after falling twice in the Kutztown tri-match. Bowie State suffered setbacks to both Kutztown and Frostburg State by the score of 3-0.

As a unit, the Bulldogs have struggled to find their offensive groove. BSU averages 5.6 kills per set on a -.035 hitting percentage with a total of 134 kills through eight matches. Junior Madison Marshall (Albany, NY) is the team's leader offensively with 27 kills (1.35 kills per set) while senior Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, MD) owns a team-best 103 assists while sophomore Neysha Washington (Winchester, VA) has collected 96 digs.

ECSU welcomes the Bulldogs with a 10-2 overall record and 1-0 mark in league action. The Vikings have won their last seven matches, and are 5-0 this season. Last time out, ECSU captured a 3-2 edge over Emory & Henry on Sept. 25. Aasia McNeill leads the team with 131 kills (2.79 kills per set), Elizabeth Kellum has a team-high 268 assists and Naijya Leggett has grabbed 179 digs.

Elizabeth City State has won 22 of the last 26 matches against Bowie State since 2008. The two teams split during the 2019 season, with ECSU earning a 3-0 sweep in the last matchup.
