BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time, Wednesday night when it battles No. 3 Indiana (PA) at 7:30 p.m.

The Rundown:
Bowie State went 1-1 during its Bowie State Tip-Off Classic last weekend in A.C. Jordan Arena. The Bulldogs led by as many as 24 points to cruise to a 94-79 victory on Friday night. The final game of the tip-off classic featured a matchup between the Bulldogs and a very talented East Stroudsburg team that went to the wire in the final minute. The Warriors would hold a lead as large as 18 points in the second half before BSU roared back to pull within three with 1:33 left. However, the Bulldogs would not score again as ESU used a 10-0 run to come away with the win.
BSU is averaging 97.0 points, shooting 54-percent (70-130) from free throw line and 39-percent (17-43) from the 3-point line.
Kyree Freeman-Davis and
Warren Mouganda both average 17 points per game to lead the Bulldogs in scoring while the top rebounders happens to be veteran guard
Anthony Carpenter and
Joel Webb at 4.5 rebounds per outing, respectively. Freeman-Davis and Mouganda were two of four Bulldogs who scored in double figures in the win against Frostburg State while against East Stroudsburg, Bowie State had six players in double digit scoring led by Mouganda with 19.

As of 2010, IUP is 6-2 against BSU including a four game win-streak entering Wednesday's competition. The Bulldogs last win against the Crimson Hawks occurred on Nov. 15, 2015 in Indiana, Pa. with Bowie State taking a 76-72 win.
No. 3 Indiana (PA):
The Crimson Hawks started the 2022-23 season ranked third in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Preseason Poll. IUP is coming off a 33-3 season in 2021-22 that included a PSAC championship, Atlantic Region championship and a trip to the national semifinals.
IUP is 2-0 entering Wednesday's game, coming off a pair of victories against Concord (77-60) and Winston-Salem State (67-50). The Crimson Hawks average 72 points per game, shooting 44-percent from the field that features 34-percent from behind the arc and 76-percent from the charity stripe. The leading scorer is Shawndale Jones, averaging 20.5 points – he also leads the team in steals (5) and free throw percentage (87.5-percent) while the top defender is Tomiwa Sulaiman, with a 5.0 rebound average per outing.
