BOWIE, MD – Three members of the Bowie State men's basketball program were recognized for their achievements in the classroom as Justin Morrisey, Jamel Melvin and Amari Cribb were named to the 2025-26 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, the organization announced.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball student-athletes who finished the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

Morrisey, Melvin, and Cribb were among more than 2,300 student-athletes from all levels of college basketball who earned the distinction, highlighting their commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.

"We are proud of Amari, Justin and Jamel for earning the NABC Academic Honors and representing Bowie State with excellence," interim head coach Bryan Wilson said. "This honor is a testament to their hard work and commitment to their academics.

"Their achievement reflects the culture we are committed to building, one that values academic success, accountability and developing young men who excel both on and off the court."

The NABC also recognized more than 400 collegiate men's basketball programs with Team Academic Excellence Awards for posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year.

"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."

The NABC's annual academic awards recognize the academic accomplishments of men's basketball teams and student-athletes across all levels of collegiate basketball.
