Men’s Basketball to Play Final Regular Season Game at Elizabeth City State

BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's basketball team will face Elizabeth City State University in their final Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) contest on Saturday, February 19 on the road before the CIAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament in Baltimore, Md. being held on Tuesday, February 22 to Saturday, February 26, 2022.

About the Bulldogs
Bowie State is looking to end a six-game losing streak and finish the regular season on a high note at Elizabeth City State. The Bulldogs fell 78-61 to Virginia State University on Wednesday night inside VSU Multipurpose Center. Sophomore David McCullough (Bowie, MD) had 22 points and four rebounds while sophomore Khalil Williams (Annapolis, MD) posted 11 points and three rebounds. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start in the first half but was able to shoot 52-percent from the field connecting 12-of-23 shots in the second half.
Scouting Elizabeth City State
The Vikings are coming off a 57-51 loss to Virginia Union University on Wednesday night. Two players scored in double figures led by Jayden Beloti with 19 points and three rebounds while Shykeef Daniels chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. Beloti currently ranks 12th in the CIAA averaging 12.6 points per game, while ECSU's leading scorer Zaccheus Hobbs ranks ninth in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game.
The Series
This will be the second meeting between the two programs this season. Last time out, the Bulldogs won 71-68 on January 29 which aided head coach Darrell Brooks in earning his 200th career win making him the most winningest coach in program history.
