LINCOLN, Pa. – Despite making a run and pulling within three points with less than four minutes to go, the Bowie State men's basketball team dropped the second of their last three games 78-68 to the Lions of Lincoln (PA) Saturday afternoon inside Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.

A layup from graduate senior Kobby Ayetey (Accra, Ghana) put the Bulldogs ahead 8-4 in the first three and half minutes but the Lions used an 11-0 run to push ahead 14-8 over BSU with 11:19 left in the first half. Lincoln (PA) led by as many as nine points before Bowie State cut the deficit to three on a 13-9 run, trailing 30-27 at halftime.

The Bulldogs trimmed the deficit to one on numerous occasions in the second half before LUPA grew 10-3 run in the final 2:38 for the win over Bowie State.

Bowie State was led by junior Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD) with 26 points and five rebounds while Ayetey tabbed 16 points for a Bulldog team that shot 42-percent from the field (21-50), 7-of-19 (36.8-percent) from the 3-point line and 70.4-percent (19-27) from the charity stripe as a unit.

The loss dips the BSU's overall record to 7-15 overall and 5-6 in the CIAA while Lincoln (PA) improves to 15-8 on the year and 8-4 in the league.

The Bulldogs will return to action Monday, Feb. 7 at Fayetteville State for a tip-off slated for 4 p.m.
