Dr. Williams Appointed Northern Vice President on CIAA Management Council

BOWIE, Md. – Dr. Jolisa Williams, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at Bowie State University, was recently appointed as Northern Vice President of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Management Council. The 12-member association is the compromised of senior members of the CIAA, director of athletics and presidents of the sports information directors, compliance, senior woman administrators, student-athlete advisory committee, athletic training and the faculty athletic representative associations.

"I'm so honored yet humbled to continue to serve on management council," Williams said. "I've learned so much from serving on this council and I look forward to representing Bowie State but also contributing and supporting the mission and vision of the CIAA."

Williams, who is in her second year at Bowie State after previously serving in the same capacity at Shaw University for six years, is no stranger to the CIAA Management Council structure having served as the President for the Sports Information Directors Association (SIDA) from 2017 to 2022. She joined the Bulldogs in August 2021, has since been awarded with the 2022 CoSIDA rising star, and participant in the prestigious 2022 Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute program.

Currently, Williams is a member of Women Leaders, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and Black College Sports Information Directors Association (BC-SIDA). She also serves as a CIAA representative on the Division II Regional Advisory Committee for women's volleyball and CoSIDA's young professional committee.
