Harris Scores Game High 22 Points in Setback at Lincoln (PA), 83-62

LINCOLN, PA -- Sophomore guard Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) scored a game-high 22 points and collected four steals but the Bowie State women's basketball team fell 83-62 to the Lincoln (PA) Lady Lions on the road Saturday.

The Bulldogs (8-8, 4-3 CIAA, 0-1 North) other double digit scorer was junior guard Robyn Howard (Temple Hills, MD) who added 13 points and freshman guard Mia Smith (Clarksburg, MD) added eight points off the bench. 

Smith pulled down four offensive rebounds to pace an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Bowie State, grabbing 17 boards and turning them into 16 second chance points.

BSU's defense forced 19 LUPA turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 17 points on the offensive end of the floor. Harris' four steals led the way individually for the Bulldogs.

How It Happened
Bowie State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 23-12 at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs woes carried over in the second quarter and faced a 42-29 halftime deficit.

The Bulldogs deficit grew after halftime, as BSU then faced a 66-40 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Bowie State knocked down two three-pointers in the quarter to score six of its 11 total points.

After narrowing its deficit to 75-50 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Howard's layup, shrinking the deficit to 75-55 with 4:50 to go in the contest. Lincoln (PA) responded and outscored the Bulldogs the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 83-62.
