RALEIGH, NC -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team fell to the Shaw Lady Bears in three sets (8-25, 10-25, 13-25) Tuesday night on the road during the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Quarterfinal round inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
The loss ended Bowie State's season at 6-26 on the season while making the conference tournament for the first time since 2019 with a roster that featured 13 true freshman. Madison Adderley-Julien finished with five kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .273. The Bulldogs got six digs from Haley Pelham to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-8. Bowie State trailed by as many as 69 points as Shaw never surrendered the lead in a set that was tied up two times before the Bears took control.
SET 2 | Bowie State then dropped set two 25-10 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Bulldogs fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Bowie State was not able to win the third set and was swept by Shaw. The Bulldogs fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-13.
