Bulldogs Fall at Shepherd, 60-54

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV --The Bowie State men's basketball team kept Shepherd to just 37.3-percent shooting from the field, but fell 60-54 to the Rams on the road Sunday afternoon at Butcher Center.

The Bulldogs (2-3) had three players score in double figures, led by Amare Wimbush, who had 11 points. Joel Webb tacked on 10 points and Caleb Johnson chipped in as well with 10 points.

How It Happened
After falling behind 30-14, BSU went on an 8-0 run with 3:58 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Mark Bradshaw, to narrow its deficit to 30-22. Shepherd answered back and added to its lead, leaving the Bulldogs down 33-24 entering halftime.

Following intermission, Bowie State kept the Rams from increasing their lead before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Bradshaw's layup, to shrink the deficit to 45-44 with 4:43 to go in the contest. The Rams responded and outscored the Bulldogs the rest of the contest.

» BSU's defense forced 15 turnovers.
» Wimbush led the Bulldogs with 11 points.
» Bowie State got a team-high seven rebounds from Corey Barnes.

Looking Ahead
Bowie State will host Cheyney on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. inside A.C. Jordan Arena. The match up will be the first between the two teams since the 2016-17 season. The Bulldogs own a 5-1 record against the Wolves including a 3-0 record at home.
