BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State women's volleyball team unveiled its 2023 schedule, featuring 29 matches including seven home contests, second-year head coach Edric Poitier announced Friday.

BSU opens the season with five matches on the road, starting with the Bobcats Invitational hosted by Frostburg State on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2. The Bulldogs are slated to play Pitts-Johnstown, Walsh, East Stroudsburg and the Bobcats. 

Prior to BSU's home opener on Sept. 12 against Virginia Lynchburg, the Bulldogs will compete in a tri-match hosted by Georgian Court on Friday, Sept. 8. 

The Bulldogs will be back in tournament play for the second weekend of the season at the Bobcat Classic, battling Indianapolis and Alderson Broaddus on Sept. 15, followed by matchups with host West Virginia Wesleyan and Glenville State on Sept. 16.

Bowie State's road tour will continue with a pair of road games at Morgan State (Sept. 19) and Notre Dame (MD) on Sept. 23.

Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference play opens in Bowie, Md., for the Bulldogs when Virginia State comes to A.C. Jordan Arena on Sept. 25. The first CIAA Round-Up will be held on Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 in Ettrick, Va., hosted by Virginia State. 

The squad will remain on the road on Oct. 5 at Elizabeth City State and Oct. 9 at Virginia Union. BSU will host Millersville on Oct. 10, followed by the second CIAA Round-Up hosted by Elizabeth City State on Oct. 14-15 in Elizabeth City, N.C.

The Bulldogs will welcome newly CIAA member Bluefield State on Oct. 10 to A.C. Jordan Arena and the Lady Vikings of ECSU on Oct. 23. Following the two-match home skid, BSU will travel to Lincoln (PA) on Oct. 26 and then close out the month of October with a home match against Virginia Union on Oct. 30.

Bowie State will start the month of November off with a road match at Bluefield State (Nov. 2) and then return home to host senior day on Nov. 6 against Lincoln (PA). The regular season finale will feature a road tilt at Virginia State on Nov. 9.

The CIAA tournament is slated for Nov. 14 with the quarterfinal rounds being played at the higher-seeded institutions and then the semifinals and championship match held in A.C. Jordan Arena on the beautiful campus of Bowie State University on Nov. 18-19.
