Registration for basketball camps, held by Bowie State women's basketball head coach
Shadae Swan, is open for summer sessions. Coach Swan is offering a pair of youth camps as well as skills and team camps in August and September.

The first camps will be Baby Ballers and Skills Camp which will be held on Aug. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Baby Ballers camp is a fun skill focused program designed for beginner players ages 4-7. The event is designed to develop a complete player with the focus on basic skills along with sportsmanship and teamwork. The BSU coaching staff and players will teach the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding through skill-based instruction. Cost of participation is $45 with the early bird registration by July 22 at $40.
The Skills Camp will also be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the intent to teach campers the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding through skill-based instruction. The BSU coaching staff and players will incorporate conditioning, agility, competition, and games in a fun and safe environment. Cost of participation is $55. Early registration is $50 by July 22.
The Elite Camp is slated for Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. geared towards girls in grade school 9-12 and junior college female athletes. Cost of participation is $75 with an early bird rate at $65 before July 31. The camp is designed to motivate and evaluate student-athletes who have aspirations to play basketball at the collegiate level. The BSU coaching staff and players will provide instruction through skill development stations and live play, to ensure each participant leaves as a better basketball player. The four hours will be filled with skill development and competitive games. Additionally, there will be a guest speaker and campus tour.
The final camp of the summer will feature a team camp on Sept. 9 beginning at 9 a.m. for junior varsity, high school teams and non-scholastic teams made up of grade school girls in grades 9-12. Teams must consist of a minimum of seven players and a maximum of 12. The cost of participation is $325.
