BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team will host Notre Dame of (MD) University Thursday, Oct. 3 in a non-conference match inside the A.C. Jordan Arena. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.

Clear Bag Policy
Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bag into the stadium all of which are subject to search.
• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags, measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to: purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.
The Series
Thursday's match up will be just third time the two programs will meet since 2016 as both teams have won a match apiece. In the pervious meeting, the Bulldogs won against Notre Dame (MD) 3-2 (25-22,21-25,25-23,21-25,15-7) in 2023, on the road at the MBK Sports Complex.
Last Timeout
Bowie State (2-11, 0-2 CIAA) lost to CIAA opponent Elizabeth City Sate on Monday in a three-set sweep (34-32, 27-25, 25-21). Offensively, Nicole Taylor led the team with 12 kills, while defensively, the Bulldogs had two players with season-highs in digs Taylor Johnson 20 and Shaska Davis 15 in the loss.
Finding a Groove
BSU leaders has stayed consistent throughout the weeks as Nina Edwards leads the Bulldogs in kills (74) and blocks (28), while Trinity Loundmon is the team's leading passer with 146 assists and second in digs (60). Johnson who leads the team in digs (117) and aces (11) recorded a season-high 20 digs, two aces, and three assist this past Monday against the Lady Vikings. Johnson was selected for the second straight week as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week. This award is the third for Bowie State on the season.
A Look at the Gators
Notre Dame of (MD) University enters Thursday's match with a (9-5) record after defeating Penn State Brandywine 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 27-15) on Tuesday (10/1). Paulina Hernandez recorded a season-high six aces and 14 digs, while Emily Gordon led the team with 11 digs. To add on, Emma Mueller recorded 18 assist and Ciarra Bockstie had three blocks in the win this past Tuesday. Leaders for the Gators through 13 matches is Hernandez with 30 aces and 204 digs, while Gordon leads with 106 kills. Mueller is the team's assist leader with 208 and Bockstie controls with 36 blocks.
Up Next
Bowie State will travel on Saturday, Oct 5-6 to Winston-Salem NC, for the CIAA Round-Up.The Bulldogs will take on Fayetteville State University at 4 p.m. on Saturday, (Oct.5), followed by Livingstone College and Shaw University on Sunday (Oct.6) at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
