ETTRICK, VA. -- On day one of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up II, the Bowie State women's volleyball team swept Clafin (2-13, 2-10 CIAA) in three sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-20) Saturday evening inside the VSU Multipurpose Center.
The conference win improved BSU's record to 7-15 overall and 4-6 in CIAA action, while CU drops to 2-13 overall and 2-10 in the league.
Nicole Taylor finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .333. Defensively, the Bulldogs had three players reach double figures in digs, including Taylor Johnson's 11, 10 from Reece Culver, and 10 more from Shaska Davis.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, handily winning the first set 25-15. Bowie State never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Bulldogs took over the lead.
SET 2 | BSU won set two 25-17 to quickly grab a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that had just one lead change before Bowie State took over the lead.
SET 3 | Bowie State took the third set to finish the match in a 3-0 sweep. The Bulldogs the set set three 25-20. BSU trailed by as many as six points, but took the lead for good at 20-19 in a set that showcased four lead changes before the Bulldogs took over in the second half of the stanza.
