RALEIGH, NC --The Bowie State volleyball team could not beat a potent Lady Bears offense Tuesday on the road losing to the defending champs Shaw in three sets (21-25, 18-25, 19-25) in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Quarterfinal match inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
The non-conference loss moved Bowie State to 10-20 as the Bulldogs conclude its 2024 campaign.
Nicole Taylor finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .524. The Bulldogs got eight digs from Shaska Davis to lead them defensively.

» Taylor had a match-high 12 kills for Bowie State.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs fell behind early, dropping the first set 25-21. BSU trailed by as many as 12 points as Shaw never surrendered the lead in a set that was knotted up zero times before the Lady Bears took control.
SET 2 | A 25-18 set-two loss put BSU behind two sets to none in the match. Bowie State trailed by as many as seven points as Shaw grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up four times before the Lady Bears took over the lead.
SET 3 | Bowie State was not able to win the third set and was swept by Shaw. The Bulldogs lost the set 25-19 in spite of a solid showing on the attacking end. BSU put together a .321 attack percentage with 12 kills in the set loss.
