BOWIE, MD --The Bowie State women's volleyball team will travel to Lincoln Pa., on Thursday, Nov. 7 to take on the Lincoln (PA) University Lions for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) showdown. Match time is set for 7 p.m. inside the Manuel Rivero Hall.

The Series
Thursday's match-up will be just the 25th the two programs will meet, as the Bulldogs own a 15-10 record over the Lady Lions. In the previous meeting, the Bulldogs claimed a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) over LUPA inside the A.C. Jordan Arena on Oct. 21.

Bowie State (9-18, 6-7 CIAA) fell in it's last outing during its home finale to Bluefield State University (13-16, 9-3 CIAA) on Monday in a four-set match 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 16-25).Offensively, Nicole Taylor finished with 14 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .344, while Shaska Davis added 10 kills. On the defensive end, Taylor Johnson finished with 15 digs in the loss.
Staying Consistent
BSU leaders throughout 27 games are Nina Edwards leading the team in kills (164) and blocks (61). The team's leading passer Trinity Loundmon controls with 310 assists. Freshman Johnson leads the team in digs (304) and aces (22). Bowie State is ranked second in the league with an average of 2.11 blocks per game.
A Look at the Lions
LUPA enters Thursday's match with a (2-21, 1-12 CIAA) record, after losing on the road to CIAA foe Virginia Union University in a three-set sweep 3-0 (25-16,25-15,25-19). Elise Carter led the charge for the Lady Lions in the following categories: nine kills, one ace, and one block. To add on, Jaida Lumpkin recorded 24 assist and a season-high eight kills while Mariah Webester recorded 17 assists in the lost this past Monday. Lincoln's (PA) leaders are Erica Taylor who leads the team in kills (229), while Lumpkin is the team assist leader with 336. Webster leads with 338 digs,Janaa Smith controls with 39 aces and Erinn Taylor has 50 blocks.

Following Thursday's meeting with Lincoln (PA), the Bulldogs will travel to Petersburg, Va., to take on Virginia State University in the final match of the 2024 season Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. inside the VSU Multipurpose Center.
