MURFREESBORO, N.C. --The Bulldogs had a rough opening to the Chowan Classic falling 0-2 on the day dropping games against Chowan University 13-3 and Felician University 10-3 on Friday, Mar. 1.
Game One
Junior Jayla Hill went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Bulldogs in a 13-3 loss to the Chowan Hawks on Friday, Mar 1 at the Chowan Classic in Murfreesboro, N.C.
Senior Akirra Pullen (2-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Bowie State (4-8).
Hill led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, going 2-for-2 in the ballgame with an RBI. Sophomore Coreena Dunham compiled a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 4-0, the Bulldogs first put runs on the board in the third inning. Hill's run-scoring single was the big hit in BSU's three-run inning. The Bulldogs were unable to get any closer, as Chowan added nine runs to their tally on the way to a 13-3 final.

The Bulldogs had a tough showing falling to the Felician Golden Falcons 10-3 despite the efforts of Junior Saniya Jones, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI Friday afternoon at the Chowan Classic.
Junior Lindsey George (0-3) got the ball to start for Bowie State (4-9) and took the loss.
Jones led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, going 2-for-2 in the ballgame with an RBI.
Freshman Presleigh Braxton compiled a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Bulldogs first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. BSU put together a three-run frame, culminating in a run-scoring single from Braxton. The Bulldogs were unable to hold the lead, as the Golden Falcons scored nine times over the remaining three innings to grab the 10-3 win.
