BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team will host Goldey-Beacom in its first home game of the 2024 season on Friday Sept. 13 inside A.C. Jordan Arena with a first serve slated for 6 p.m.

Clear Bag Policy
Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bag into the stadium all of which are subject to search.
• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags, measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to: purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.
The Series
In the previous meeting between Bowie State and Goldey-Beacom, the Bulldogs won 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-15). Friday's matchup will be the 23rd time that the two programs will meet since 2008 as the Bulldogs are 3-19 against the Lightning.
Last Timeout
The Bulldogs fell to Morgan State in a three-set sweep, 3-0 (14-25, 28-30, 21-25), on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Sophomore Nina Edwards finished with six kills and one block, while freshman Taylor Johnson recorded a team-high two aces in the loss. Throughout the first five games, Edwards is the team's top offensive player with (26) kills, while freshman Trinity Loundmon is the team's leader in assist with (45), and Johnson leads the team in digs with (28) and services aces (7). Additionally, graduate senior Nicole Taylor is the team's leading blocker with (13).
The Lightning
A member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), Goldey-Beacom enters Friday's match 1-4 overall, coming off a home opener loss, 3-1 (17-25, 20-25, 25-20, 16-25) by West Chester on Sept. 10. Freshman Gaby Fernandez recorded defensively 24 digs, while Caitlyn Burch, named CACC Player of the Week, finished with 13 kills and a .242 percentage in the loss this past Tuesday.
Looking Ahead
The Bulldogs will travel to Takoma Park, Md., on Sunday, Sept. 15 for a non-conference tilt with Washington Adventist.
