BOWIE, MD --The Bowie State women's volleyball team will travel to Charleston, WV, Friday, Sep 20-21 for the Charleston Tournament at the Wehrle Innovation Center. The Bulldogs will take on University of Charleston and D'Youville University at 12 p.m.and 5 p.m.on Friday, (Sep.20), followed by Bloomsburg and Seton Hill on Saturday (Sep.21) at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Bowie State (2-5) won this past weekend at Washington Adventist on Sunday. The Bulldogs won 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-8). Madyson Brinson led the bulldogs with six kills and two assist, while Nina Edwards recorded five digs and one block. Additionally, Bracey Gross recorded eight digs and one assist in the win this past Sunday.
Loundmon Earns CIAA Nod
Freshman Trinity Loundmon was selected as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week. The award is the first for Loundmon and Bowie State this season. The Detroit native recorded a team-high 18 in assists against Goldey-Beacom last week. Loundmon leads the team in assists (63) throughout six games and has been a defensive presence with 28 digs.
A Look at the Eagles
A member of the Mountain East Conference (MEC), University of Charleston enters (5-0) on the season as they are coming off a four-game winning streak at the UC Invitational. In the win over Barton College the Eagles won 3-0 (25-19,27-25,25-15) on Sep.14. Riley Hoff led the Eagles with 10 kills,14 digs and two aces while Emma Shepherd recorded five aces and 12 digs in the win on Saturday. To add on, Pia Selke and Kate Strong were voted to the UC Invitational All-Tournament Team this past weekend.
A Look at the Saints
A member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), D'Youville University enters the Charleston Tournament (1-7) overall. The Saints recorded their first win of the season against Ursuline 3-0 (25-23,25-13,25-20) on Sep.14 in the DYO Tournament. Madeline O'Brien led the saints with 17 kills, while Alex Darby finished with 11 kills, 15 digs and three assists. To add on, Emma Wlostowski recorded four aces, three assists, and 12 digs in the win this past Saturday.
A Look at the Huskies
A member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), Bloomsburg University enters the Charleston Tournament (1-6) overall. The Huskies lost against Point Park University 3-0 (25-15,34-32,29-27) Sep.14 in the California (PA) Tournament. Marlee Johnson led the Huskies with 11 kills, while Sophie Wales recorded eight kills, three aces, two blocks and one assist. To add on, Elise Adelman finished with 32 assists and Emily Gustie recorded 10 digs in the lost this past Saturday.
A Look at the Griffins
A member of the PSAC, Seton Hill University enters the Charleston Tournament (7-0) on the season coming off a three-game sweep in the DYO Tournament. The Griffins won against Rollins College 3-0 (25-22,25-18,25-20) Sep.14. Jadyn Troutman led the Griffins with 10 kills and four blocks, while Adriana Lopez recorded one ace and five digs in the win this past weekend.
