BOWIE, MD --The Bowie State volleyball team could not overcome a potent Rams offense Friday on the road falling to Shepherd in three sets (13-25,23-25,22-25) and could not get over the hump against Edinboro (25-13, 25-10, 25-17) to fall to 0-2 to start the 2024 slate at Butcher Center day one of the Ram Rumble Tournament.
GAME 1 | Shepherd, 3 - Bowie State, 0
The Bowie State volleyball team could not overcome an opposing Rams offense Friday on the road falling to Shepherd in straight sets (13-25, 23-25, 22-25). The non-conference loss dropped Bowie State to 0-1 on the season. Nicole Taylor finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack. BSU got eight digs from Taylor Johnson to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-13. BSU trailed by as many as 12 points as Shepherd grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that was tied up four times before the Rams took control.
SET 2 | Bowie State lost set two 25-23, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. The Bulldogs lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Bowie State was not able to win set three and was swept by Shepherd. The Bulldogs came up short by the score of 25-22. Shepherd grabbed the advantage for good at 20-19 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Rams took over in the second half of the stanza.
GAME 2 | Edinboro, 3 - Bowie State, 0
BSU came close to taking the lead in the third set but couldn't hang on and fell to the Fighting Scots 3-0 Friday afternoon.
Nina Edwards finished with three kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack.Mekenna Scott got 4 digs to lead them defensively.

Bowie State trailed by as many as eight points as Edinboro (PA) grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Fighting Scots took over in the second half of the stanza.
