Last Time Out
Bowie State battled hard but came up short in a straight-set loss to Bluefield State on Monday inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
The Bulldogs opened strong with early kills from Snowden, Nicole Taylor, and Melisa Anacius before the Big Blue rallied to take the first set, 25-17. BSU led 11-5 in the second frame behind a service ace from Mekenna Scott and strong net play from Taylor and Snowden, but Bluefield State edged out a 25-22 win.
Despite late defensive efforts from Nadira Avery and Abena Asomani-Martin, Bowie State dropped the final set, 25-18.
Scouting Bowie State
The Bulldogs enter match No. 20 ranked third in the CIAA in blocks per set (1.82), showcasing a strong defensive identity at the net. Edwards (1.03 blk/set), Taylor (0.60), and Avery (0.51) lead the charge.
Offensively, Edwards adds 2.1 kills per set while hitting a team-best .337, and Snowden paces the attack at 3.0 kills per set. Bowie State averages 9.8 kills and 12.3 digs per set, led by Johnson in the back row (3.3 digs/set). The Bulldogs also average 1.6 service aces per set, with Johnson (22) and Snowden (18) leading the line.
With a balanced attack and a strong presence at the net, BSU looks to build momentum heading into CIAA Round-Up #2 this weekend.

Offense:
The Vikings average 9.1 kills per set while hitting .104 as a team. Clarke Blakemore leads the offense (1.8 kills/set, .275 pct), followed by Kendall Washington (2.3) and Jorja Hoffmann (1.9). Setter Serenity Lunnermon averages 5.8 assists per set.
Defense:
ECSU posts 1.4 blocks per set, led by Andrea Rose (0.74 blk/set) and Blakemore (0.60). Libero Raven Bailey anchors the defense with 3.5 digs per set.
Serving/Passing:
The Vikings rank second in the CIAA in service aces (2.1 per set, 102 total), powered by Hoffmann (20) and Blakemore (19).
