OXFORD, PA – Bowie State University capped off its 2025 football season with a 28-17 road victory over Lincoln University (PA) on Saturday afternoon at LU Athletic Stadium. A strong fourth-quarter surge lifted the Bulldogs past the Lions, highlighted by two rushing touchdowns.
Lincoln (PA) struck first midway through the opening quarter with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Rhyel Miles-Eubanks to Omarion Dupree, giving the Lions a 7-0 lead. Bowie State's offense showed flashes early but was unable to score before the end of the first quarter.
The Lions extended their lead to 14-0 early in the second quarter with a short touchdown run. The Bulldogs responded when quarterback
Savion Witherspoon connected with
Xavier Belton for a 26-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 14-7 after
Chris Gbakinro's extra point.
After halftime,
Ty Lyles gave BSU a spark with a 66-yard kickoff return to open the third quarter. Witherspoon capped off the drive with a 4-yard rushing touchdown, but the extra point was blocked, keeping LUPA ahead 14-13. Later in the quarter, Davon Telp Jr. came up big for the Bulldogs, blocking a Lions field goal attempt to keep the game within one point.
Bowie State found its rhythm in the fourth quarter. Witherspoon connected with
Raymon Lewis for a 51-yard touchdown pass to put the Bulldogs ahead. Moments later,
Micah Robinson added a 7-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 28-17. The Bulldogs ran out the clock with a series of runs to seal the season-ending victory.
