BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State men's basketball team (3-9, 1-1 CIAA) used a strong first half and key late plays to secure a 77–72 win over Livingstone College Monday night inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
Guy Fauntleroy opened the scoring by converting three free throws at the 18:21 mark, and
KJ West followed with a three-pointer to help the Bulldogs build momentum.
Jaiden McGhee added a layup and a fast-break finish midway through the half, and Fauntleroy capped the opening period with a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds as Bowie State took a 44–30 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs maintained control to start the second half, as
Charles Thomas, III, knocked down a three-pointer just over a minute in. LC made a push behind transition baskets and consistent scoring, trimming the deficit to single digits, but BSU answered with strong interior play.
Joseph Allen provided a key spark with a dunk at the 6:48 mark, helping the Bulldogs preserve their lead.
The Blue Bears continued to apply pressure late, cutting the margin to four in the final minute. Allen delivered the decisive play with a dunk at the 22-second mark, and West added a free throw in the closing seconds to seal the 77–72 victory.
