Last Time Out
The Bulldogs battled through a tough series against Florida Memorial and Elizabeth City State. In the opening game against FMU, the Bulldogs quickly fell behind after the Lions put up a seven-run inning, but a late surge in the seventh brought Bowie State within one run at 12-11. Despite the rally, they couldn't complete the comeback, suffering a narrow defeat.
Game two saw more resilience from the Bulldogs, who were down 5-0 early. A five-run explosion in the sixth inning, capped off by a three-run homer from Coreena Dunham, tightened the game to 7-6. However, despite a valiant effort, they couldn't push across the tying run, losing 7-6 to Florida Memorial.
In the final game of the afternoon against Elizabeth City State, BSU found their rhythm, earning a 4-3 walk-off victory. After leading early, the Bulldogs were forced to battle back as ECSU tied the game 3-3. But a clutch RBI groundout from freshman Santanna Puller brought Dunham home in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win, with freshman Alycia Searwar earning the victory in relief.
While they struggled in the first two games, the Bulldogs showed grit and determination, ultimately closing the day with a well-earned win in a hard-fought battle.
