BOWIE, MD— The No. 5 Bowie State men's basketball team will take on South No. 4 Livingstone College during the opening round of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 27th at 6:40 p.m inside the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md.
This matchup will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN+ (https://plus.espn.com/), with the championship game also being shown on ESPNU.

Scouting Bowie State
North No. 5 Bowie State (15-13, 7-9 CIAA, 5-5 North) enters the CIAA Tournament after posting their best record since the 2019-2020 season, where the Bulldogs won 16 games. BSU defends the rim at an elite level, ranking second in the CIAA with 4.64 blocks per game. Bowie State is also ranked fourth in the conference in assists (14.11) and steals (8.82). 2024-2025 All-CIAA frontcourt member Amare Wimbush leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 12.6 ppg with six rebounds per game. Warren Mouganda is also second on the team in scoring with 11.5 ppg.
Last Time Out for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs dropped their last matchup at home against Lincoln (PA), 86-47, inside of A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Md. Wimbush led BSU in scoring with 12 points, four rebounds, and one block. Caleb Johnson also scored nine points shooting 3-6 from the three-point line. Bowie State only scored 12 points in the paint while they received 18 points from the bench.
Scouting Livingstone
South No. 4 Livingstone (12-15, 4-12 CIAA, 3-7 South) enters the opening round of the CIAA Tournament on a three-game losing streak. The Blue Bears are the second-best team in the conference when it comes to rebounding, averaging 37.4 rebounds per game. LC also is fourth in the conference in block shots, averaging 3.96 blocks per game. Jamal Cannady Jr. is the team's leading scorer, averaging 16 ppg, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. James Nipper is the team's second-leading scorer with 11.3 ppg and 4.3 rebounds.
Last Time Out for the Blue Bears
The Blue Bears dropped their last matchup against Winston-Salem State, 77-71, inside CE Gaines Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Tiller and Nipper both scored a team-high 18 points. Nipper was also a defense menace, tallying two steals and one block. Livingstone found success at the rim with 44 points inside the paint. The Blue Bears also received 25 points off the bench.

The winner between Bowie State and Livingstone will face the North No. 1 Virginia State on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6:40 p.m. in the opening round.
