BALTIMORE, MD— The No. 3 Bowie State women's basketball team will take on North No. 1 Virginia State Trojans in the semifinal round of the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday, Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. inside the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md.

Last Time Out for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs (19-11) won its quarterfinal matchup against Livingstone College, 68-54 Thursday evening. The Bulldogs had four players score in double figures, led by the game MVP
Mia Smith who recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while
Destiny Ryles, finished with a game-high 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals and
Shelby Ricks added 15 points.
Scouting Virginia State
No. 1 (North) Virginia State (22-5) enters the semifinal round of the CIAA Tournament on a seven-game winning streak. The Trojans has a third-best offense, averaging 68.6 ppg. VSU is led by Carmen Kweti, a dominant force on the boards, leading the CIAA with an impressive 12.0 rebounds per game. Senior Amesha Miller is the backbone of VSU's offense, ranking first in the CIAA in field goal percentage at 49%.

The winner between Bowie State and Virginia State will advance to the CIAA Championship game on Saturday, Mar. 1, and will face the winner between No. 2 (North) Virginia Union and No. 1 (South) Fayetteville State inside CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md., at 1 p.m.
