Bulldogs Last Timeout
The Bulldogs dropped a 3-0 non-conference tilt to Delaware State on Wednesday (4/2) at the DSU Softball Field in Dover, Del.

CIAA Pitcher of the Week - Lindsey George (5-8) took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits over six innings with five strikeouts.

Coreena Dunham went 1-for-2 with a walk, while the Bulldogs struggled offensively, stranding a key runner on third in the second inning. Despite battling to the final out, the Bulldogs ultimately couldn't break through.

About Bowie State
Dunham leads the Bulldogs' offense, hitting .368 with 32 hits, five home runs, and 23 RBIs, while Jayla Hill (.337, 6 HR, 24 RBIs) and Presleigh Braxton (.323, 6 doubles, .406 OBP) provide additional firepower. Speed remains a key weapon for BSU, with 40 stolen bases showcasing their aggressive approach on the basepaths. Defensively, Dunham, Hill, and Ariana Ellerson combine for a strong .981 fielding percentage.

On the mound, George (5-8, 3.83 ERA) anchors the pitching staff, using her strikeout ability and control to keep opponents in check.

Lady Lions Last Outing
Lincoln (PA) University's softball team split with Virginia Union, edging the Lady Panthers in game one 9-8 before falling 7-3 in the nightcap last weekend. The Lady Lions jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after the first inning and maintained control of the game for most of the contest. However, the Lady Panthers mounted a strong comeback in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to close the gap. Despite the late scare, LUPA managed to hold on, securing a hard-fought 9-8 victory.

During the nightcap, Virginia Union set the tone early, capitalizing on scoring opportunities while keeping LUPA's hitters off balance. Despite a strong performance from Kayla Johnson, who went 2-for-3, the Lady Lions were unable to close the gap. Alyssa Mercado drove in the Lady Lions only run, while Morgan Smith added a double. Pitchers Jasmine Stewart and Taylor Brown combined efforts on the mound, but VUU's steady offense proved difficult to contain. Lincoln (PA) pushed across a run in the middle innings, but the Lady Panthers maintained control to secure the victory.

Scouting Lincoln (PA)
Jordin Cathey anchors Lady Lions offense, hitting .395 with 5 doubles, 3 home runs, and 15 RBIs, while Ashley Stringer (.381, 4 doubles, 3 homers, 26 RBIs, 18 stolen bases) and Kevyn Jones (.350, .426 OBP) add depth to the lineup. Speed is a major weapon for LUPA, with 82 stolen bases on the season, led by Stringer (18 SB) and Aliya Rose (16 SB). Defensively, Jones (.975 FLD%), Brown (.971 FLD%), and Stringer (.968 FLD%) provide reliability, though fielding struggles have resulted in 60 errors.

Chloe Foster (3-6, 3.77 ERA) leads the pitching staff, with Brown (3-4, 5.38 ERA, 50 strikeouts in 56 innings) and Ashlynn Sherman (4.12 ERA) offering additional support. Cathey (3-4, 8.57 ERA) has battled command issues, contributing to the team's 5.63 ERA and .327 opponent batting average.
