KUTZTOWN, PA – The Bowie State women's volleyball team (1-6, 0-0 CIAA) closed out play at the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Tournament on Saturday with a split, falling to California (Pa.) (6-0, 0-0 PSAC) in straight sets before rallying for a dramatic five-set victory over Caldwell (0-5, 0-0 CACC) at Keystone Arena.
GAME ONE | California (PA), 3 – Bowie State, 0
SET 1 | Bowie State opened strong with kills from Nina Edwards and Madyson Brinson, but the Vulcans used a late serving run to secure the frame, 25-19.
SET 2 | Lyric Snowden powered the Bulldogs with a string of kills, while Nadira Avery and Nicole Taylor teamed up for a block, but California (Pa.) edged out a tight 25-23 decision.
SET 3 | Edwards struck early and Snowden added a service ace to spark a rally, but the Vulcans' strong serving closed out the match, 25-20.

GAME TWO | Bowie State, 3 – Caldwell, 2
SET 1 | The Bulldogs opened on a 4-0 run behind back-to-back blocks from Edwards and Abena Asomani-Martin before Nicole Taylor sealed the frame with a kill for a 25-18 win.
SET 2 | Brinson and Asomani-Martin sparked the offense early, but Caldwell answered with key scoring runs to even the match, 25-18.
SET 3 | Edwards and Taylor combined for consecutive blocks, and Snowden added a service ace as BSU surged ahead 11-8. The Cougars rallied late, however, to take the set, 25-20.
SET 4 | Johnson swung momentum with three straight aces, fueling a dominant Bulldog frame capped by a Snowden kill in a 25-11 win.
SET 5 | Snowden, Brinson, and Melisa Anacius provided key points before Edwards and Bracey Gross sealed the victory with a block, lifting BSU to a 15-12 clincher.
