Samuel Graham of Bowie State football will compete in the HBCU Legacy Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 21, in New Orleans. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT, with live coverage on NFL Network.
The Bulldogs' trio headlines a strong postseason showing for the Bowie State , which placed multiple student-athletes across the CIAA's postseason honors lists. Notably, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association will have seven institutions represented in this year's Legacy Bowl, underscoring the depth of talent across the conference.
A graduate student from Upper Marlboro, Md.,
Jamal Jones capped an outstanding career as one of the CIAA's most disruptive defensive linemen. He ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss (17.0) and third in sacks (7.5) while totaling 47 tackles and six quarterback hurries. His signature outing came against Winston-Salem State with seven tackles and two sacks, earning him First Team All-CIAA honors and a Legacy Bowl invitation.
A redshirt senior from Baltimore, Md.,
Samuel Graham earned First Team All-CIAA recognition after ranking among the league leaders in tackles per game. Graham finished the season with 73 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and a fumble return touchdown. A four-time CIAA Defensive Back of the Week, he posted a season-high 13 tackles versus Lincoln (Pa.) and was selected to the Legacy Bowl as one of the nation's top HBCU defensive backs.
Joining Jones and Graham is
Jordan Williams, a defensive standout from Brandywine, Md., who graduated this past December. Over a 30-game career, Williams compiled 106 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and five pass breakups. His most productive campaign came in 2024, when he recorded 49 tackles, three tackles for loss, an interception, and a forced fumble, providing steady leadership and consistency for the Bulldogs' defense.
