BALTIMORE, MD – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced its 2025-26 Men's Basketball All-CIAA Teams and major award winners, with two members of the Bowie State men's basketball team earning postseason recognition.
Junior guard
Jaiden McGhee was named Second Team All-CIAA, while freshman forward
Charles Thomas, III earned a spot on the CIAA All-Rookie Team.
McGhee led the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 12.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game over 26 appearances, including 21 starts. He shot 40.6 percent from the field and 75.9 percent from the free throw line, totaling 329 points on the season. In CIAA play, the junior averaged 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest across 17 games. Earlier this season, McGhee earned CIAA Player of the Week honors after a standout stretch in conference competition.
The Townsend, Del. native, also reached a major career milestone during the regular season finale against Lincoln (PA), scoring 10 points to surpass the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career. McGhee becomes the latest Bulldog to join Bowie State's 1,000-point club, solidifying his impact on the program.
Thomas, III made an immediate impact in his first collegiate season, appearing in 26 games with 19 starts. The rookie averaged 8.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 40.0 percent from the field. He recorded 213 total points, 100 rebounds, 26 blocks and 25 steals during the regular season. In league play, Upper Marlboro, Md. native, averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 15 contests and earned CIAA Rookie of the Week recognition earlier this year.
The Bowie State men's basketball team (7-21, 5-11 CIAA) finished 2-8 in the Northern Division, earning the No. 4 seed from the North and will take on the No. 5 seed of the South - Livingstone College (11-16, 6-10 CIAA, 3-7 South) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8:50 p.m. The winner of the opening round will face the No. 1 seed Fayetteville State (South) on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6:40 p.m. inside CFG Bank Arena.
