BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State women's tennis team (0-3, 0-2 CIAA) fell 6–0 to Virginia State in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) match Saturday afternoon at the BSU Tennis Courts.

Virginia State gained the early edge by sweeping the two contested doubles matches. The duo of Nakari Blunt and Asia Johnson dropped a 6–1 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Payton Swinton and Verneice Herndon fell 6–0 at No. 2 doubles against the Trojans.

In singles play, VSU maintained control, taking all five completed matches in straight sets. Blunt faced S. Carter at the No. 1 position, while Herndon matched up with M. Pago at No. 2 and Johnson competed against L. Hereford at No. 3. Swinton played T. Toomer at No. 4 singles, and Daisy Pentorn represented the Bulldogs at No. 5 against N. Terrell.
