ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Bowie State women's tennis team (0-11, 0-10 CIAA) dropped a 7-0 decision to Elizabeth City State on Tuesday afternoon in conference action.
The Lady Vikings took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. Nakari Blunt and Payton Swinton fell 5-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Asia Johnson and Verneice Herndon were defeated 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 doubles, Mil'lanni Marte and Daisy Pentorn dropped a 6-1 decision.
In singles play, ECSU carried its momentum, winning all six matches in straight sets. Blunt fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Herndon dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 2. Swinton (No. 3), Johnson (No. 4), and Marte (No. 5) each fell by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores, and Pentorn was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 position.
